Rebecca Mock Illustrated Cinemagraphs

I have briefly touched upon cinemagraphs in previous posts. In short they, are subtle seamless animations, often in .gif format. Animated features are used to give the illustrations a sense of time, they appear to be live feeds from some illustrated universe.

Rebecca has applied this practice to digital editorial publications. I could be suggested however, that an animated image is enough to distract from the text, in a similar fashion that animated web banners are designed to distract from the intended viewing content.
